Lumen Wild@Home

A genuine commitment to wildlife

Our commitment to the environment goes beyond the typical “fluffy promises” made by companies. And (without meaning to sound too much like tree huggers!), we have a genuine commitment to the environment and wildlife. That’s why we have created Lumen Wild@Home. As a small business we may not have the resources of the likes of Facebook, but we share in the philanthropic ideologies of its boss Mark Zuckerberg, and we do what can where we can. As much as we would like to rid the world of all diseases, our resources limit us to much more modest ambitions!

So where can we make a difference?

In time we hope to be able to support a number of different wildlife charities in one form or another, however, to kick-start our project we are starting with The Barn Owl Trust. The Trust is a grass-roots, non-profit organisation, based on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. The Trust is a national charity and consists of a small team of professional staff and volunteers who work very hard to conserve Barn Owls and the environment on which they depend. The Barn Owl Trust is an organisation which has close ties to the work of Lumen in that rooflights are often specified in barns, loft conversions and renovations of old historic properties – all of which are favoured nesting sites of the humble Barn Owl.

So what can we do to help?

The obvious need for the Trust is the occasional financial contribution, however they don’t just need money. There are many ways in which you can support the Trust through various events and activities.

Visit the Barn Owl Trust website for much more information on how to get involved.
