How are your rooflights supported and fixed?

Home >> Faq >> How are your rooflights supported and fixed?
Question:

We have very old rafters on our cottage that vary considerably in depth and width. Would your rooflight be able to be used, or adapted to enable us to provide additional light into our loft space.

Answer:

The Lumen rooflight has fixing lugs that position onto the side of the rafter and therefore the width and depth are not that important providing you are not leaving the rafter exposed. In most situations, the internal area is covered by plasterboard and therefore covers the rafters. The most important measurement is the distance between the rafters. On occasions where rafters cannot be altered it might be necessary to manufacture a bespoke rooflight using the Lumen Extra Light system.
